Description Obvion is an established originator and servicer of Dutch residential mortgages and active in the mortgage business since 1980. We started in 1980 as ABP Hypotheken. Obvion was established in 2002 as a joint venture between Rabobank and Dutch pension fund ABP. In 2012, we became a wholly owned subsidiary of Rabobank. Obvion holds a license under the Wft to act as offeror (aanbieder) and servicer (bemiddelaar).

Obvion also services the mortgage portfolios of ABP, the STRONG and (Green) STORM RMBS programmes, several Private Placements and Whole Loan Sale investors.

As a result of Rabobank having full control, Rabobank consolidates Obvion in its financial statements. Rabobank has a strong commitment to being involved in Obvion. For Rabobank, Obvion is an excellent way to maintain its market share in the Dutch residential mortgage market by selling mortgages through the intermediary channel.
Additional informations Obvion wants to play a pioneering role in encouraging and enabling its borrowers to invest in energy-saving measures and refurbishments. To do so, Obvion offers its borrowers several incentives:

- New and existing borrowers can receive a sustainability-discount on the applicable interest rate if the mortgage loan is used to finance an energy-efficient house.

- Borrowers can finance up to 106% of market value if the part above 100% is used to invest in energy-saving measures. To encourage borrowers to do so, Obvion does not charge these borrowers a higher interest rate if they finance more than 100%.

- In addition, a budget of € 9,000 that borrowers can use to invest in energy-saving measures is included in the proposal for selected target groups on an opt-out basis. This encourages that each (potential) borrower discusses the topic of sustainability with their advisor and considers energy-saving measures when it is most relevant.
